DMEPOS Competitive Bidding - Round 2021: Target Deadline for Authorized Official Registration
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) would like to remind all bidders that today is the target deadline for authorized officials (AOs) to register for an account in the CMS Enterprise Portal and have access added to the Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) Bidding System, DBidS, and Connexion, the DMEPOS Competitive Bidding Program’s secure portal.
Registration for DBidS will close on Friday, August 16, 2019, at 8:59:59 p.m. prevailing Eastern Time – no AOs, backup authorized officials (BAOs), or end users (EUs) can register to add access to DBidS after registration closes. Registration to add access to Connexion always remains open, although we recommend you add access when adding DBidS. It is also important to note that the bid window opens on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, and will close on Wednesday, September 18, 2019.
If you are a supplier interested in bidding, you must designate one individual listed as an AO on your organization’s CMS-855S enrollment application in the Provider Enrollment, Chain, and Ownership System (PECOS) to act as the AO for registration purposes.
- After an AO has successfully registered and added access to DBidS and Connexion, other individuals listed as an AO on the CMS-855S enrollment application in PECOS may register as BAOs.
- The AO must approve a BAO’s request to add access to DBidS and Connexion.
- The AO and BAOs can designate other individuals not listed as an AO on the CMS-855S enrollment application in PECOS to serve as EUs.
- BAOs and EUs must also register for an account in the CMS Enterprise Portal and have access added to DBidS and Connexion. All users must register and use their own individual user ID and password. Do not disclose or lend your user ID and/or password to anyone else. Sharing of accounts may lead to termination of system access privileges and/or adverse action up to and including legal prosecution.
When creating an account for the CMS Enterprise Portal, the following information provided by the AO and BAO(s) must match exactly with PECOS enrollment records:
- Last name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
