The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is conducting the Round 1 2017 competition in the same nine metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) as the Round 1 Recompete. Competitive bidding areas (CBAs) in multi-state MSAs have been defined so that there are no multi-state CBAs. As a result, 13 CBAs are in the Round 1 2017 competition.
