Registration for DBidS and Connexion Checklist
Before you register to access the Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) Bidding System, DBidS, and Connexion, the DMEPOS Competitive Bidding Program’s secure portal, you will need to:
o Create an account in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Enterprise Portal to obtain a user ID and password, if you do not already have an active account. If you already have a CMS Enterprise Portal user ID and password (to access applications such as DBidS, Connexion, SPOT-FCSO, PS&R, Novitasphere, or HPG/HETS), you do not need to create a new account, but should go to the CMS Enterprise Portal and confirm it is still active. For help creating an account, please see the CMS Enterprise Portal User Manual.
o Determine the Provider Transaction Access Number (PTAN) you will use to request access to DBidS and Connexion. You must use the same PTAN to access DBidS and Connexion. When selecting your PTAN for registration purposes, it’s important to note that the legal business name (LBN) on your bid surety bond(s) must be the same as the LBN that is associated with the PTAN you use to register for DBidS and Connexion. The LBN that is associated with the PTAN you use to register for DBidS and Connexion will auto-populate in the Business Organization Information section of Form A in DBidS.
o Designate one authorized official (AO) listed on your CMS-855S enrollment application to act as your AO for registration purposes. Your AO must register first and must approve other users’ requests to access DBidS and Connexion.
o Ensure your enrollment information reflected in the Provider Enrollment, Chain, and Ownership System (PECOS) is up to date and accurate. The following information provided by the AO and backup authorized official(s) (BAO(s)) during registration must match exactly with PECOS enrollment records:
- Last name of the person registering
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
o Ensure the email address associated with your CMS Enterprise Portal account is correct and remains active throughout bidding and bid evaluation since critical information will be communicated to you using this email address.
o Add firstname.lastname@example.org, @dmecompetitivebid.com, @palmettogba.com and @webmail.palmettogba.com to your address book so these emails do not go to your spam, blocked, or junk mail folders. If your email settings are administered by your business organization, please ask your technical department to add these addresses to your safe sender list.
o Prepare your computer by:
- Ensuring screen resolution is set to a minimum of 800X600 based upon CMS' design.
- Using Internet Explorer version 11.0. You may also use Mozilla, Firefox, Google Chrome, or Safari.
- Verifying that the latest versions of JAVA and ActiveX are installed on your computer.
- Disabling pop-up blockers prior to attempting to access the CMS Enterprise Portal.
Note: Avoid using mobile devices such as tablets or cell phones, as well as the use of Windows XP since the CMS Enterprise Portal does not support this version of Windows.
o Refer to the Registration Reference Guide for DBidS and Connexion for additional information and for specific guidance on how to request access to DBidS and Connexion.
